Went for a walk this afternoon after a rain shower. Took advantage of walking a promising new field to look for artifacts but what I found was more precious than that. The sun popped out giving me a beautiful rainbow above and the cornfield revealed a tiny miracle below. Thought I would share both.... Baby couldn't have been more than a few hours old and momma wasn't too far away. .

Now That's an awesome find!:icon_thumleft:

ya, thanks for sharing, you're right maybe a few hours old, wow!

That's amazing! :icon_thumleft: I would assume that the fawn was a late comer.

Nice photographs! Thanks for sharing...

Iv'e had that happen to me twice.
In the woods they blend in so well I literally almost tripped over one.
The second time it happened I had the chance to leave and go home, get my two youngest (9 & 12), and come back, walk into the woods and sure enough it was still lying there.
You feel blessed after something like that happens to you.
Thanks for sharing.

Oh. My. Goodness. I feel blessed just seeing the picture!

Always best once you see them to quickly go away..

yeah this little guy was stuck to that spot like glue. The doe was not far away. He was so tiny. Not much bigger than a puppy

I stood there just long enough to snap a couple of pictures of him. Didn't touch him or get too close. Momma was real close by, about 20 yards.

The first one I found was while I was doing Animal control for my town.
We had to rescue that one, the mother had been hit by car the night before.
When I was able to catch it, it was so small it fit in a cat carrier.
A local refuge took it.

Cute pics! Years ago I saw one getting chased by a dog. The fawn was a little bigger that that one but was still in spots. The fawn finally hit a chain link fence and just kept butting the fence trying to escape. I got to the fawn just as the dog did and I was able to swoop it up in my arms and drop kick the dog in the belly. Luckily the dog ran off and I only got a few small cuts from the deer's hooves as I set it down.

What a great save packerbacker! Lucky fawn..:))
