New Cellar hole finds...Hey, is this some kind of Belt or Box plate???

Went out with my friend Dave to a new cellar hole he had gotten us permission to detect. A beautiful spot way back in the woods. I located what appears to be some kind of box plate. The design is very unique. It appears to be a belt or rifle sling in a oval circle with a top design that looks like two outstretched wings. It is made of thin brass an may have had a lead backing at one time. If you have any ideas, please let me know Also located an attractive latch to what I believe is an old photo album or book. Throw in a couple of horse bridle rosettes, a bridle buckle cover and a crotal bell and it makes for a really nice day. Thanks for looking...Lance

Just kidding! I'm not really crying but it would be nice to find someting besides a bunch of stinkin' nails and old tools. Maybe one day, after I remove all the nails.

The relics from your cellarholes are so much more ornate. I AM crying! :P

Thanks Possum. I actually work out away from the cellar holes, I look for the from door and back door locations and work out from there and into the fields around where the house was. I find a lot more away from the hole than in or near it. Thanks for the comments...Lance
