I had a great weekend in Northern NC & saved some early history! Saturday we scouted a new site but only found a convex button & a piece of feather edge pottery & another site had a home site but was too trashy to search. We ended the day at a site I've been searching for years & found a flat button with 2 holes, a musketball, a nice arrowhead & some broken pieces. This morning we decided to scout another new permission & found a very early homesite. We hunted half a day & I found 9 buttons (including a pewter & large tombac), a small round ball, saddle strap guide & piece of a colonial knee buckle. My favorite find (and a first) was the colonial watch winder with a seated dog! I can't wait to get back to this site, hopefully a nice Spanish silver is waiting for me! It was a beautiful weekend to get out in the country & save some history!
