personally, i would buy the AT Pro again if given the choice. it has performed really well. and i've put mine in the water numerous times. i guess it depends on what you are trying to do...what u wanting to find?

i was wanting to find civil war relics in highly mineralized earth and go in the water

:dontknow: your 250 is waterproof up to the box.....whats wrong with that ???

Ya get what you pay for is my opinion! I had a Whites M6 detector for about 4 years. A good detector all around, but just today actually I got myid 8 for mine but you can get them cheaper. new Teknetics T2 detector and went out for a bit. I pulled in more good stuff in that one hunt then I would in 3 hunts! I paid 8 for mine but you can find them cheaper on ebay or something.

"civil war relics in highly mineralized earth"

I've not used my AT Pro in that type of soil, but a friend who bought one at the same time has (Culpeper) and he said it did not perform well. As far as a VLF machine for highly mineralized soil, I'd take a hard look at the T2SE if I were you. More than you want to spend, but worth the money.
