New Detectors - What would you suggest?

i got my daughter (she's 8) an ace 150, i really wish i got her the 250 insted cause the 150 doesn't have a pinpoint feature. the ace's are light and easy to use. and if they would get tied of them you can easily sell them.
 

Being so young they might be more interested in a detector that vdi's..
Fisher has one for about 250 or so..

I am very new to detector talk - I have a Garrett 350 GTA - can I upgrade pretty nicely for $500.
 

My daughter is 8 years old and I'm having the same problem. She always wants to come detect with Daddy. I've been doing some online research and the Gold Digger Metal Detector seems to be affordable and has good ratings . . . costs about $90.

my daughter is 8 yrs old, the main problem is when we hunt the park she wants to hit the swings and run off with friends..... ::)
