This is a great reward from yesterday’s long slog on the eastern coastline...
It’s a well used and quite a large Levanna Projectile Point, which was either utilized as a knife or (based on the context of the find), a possible harpoon tip.

The material is a dark brown Rhyolite.

Again, the size is remarkable especially in its ratio to thin-ness.

Good find in those long shadows!

Good find in those long shadows!

The sun sets in the West. The coast up here is dead East. So the shadows were stretching long from the bank.
But who doesn’t love a long walk on the beach and a warm October sunset, right?

Very nice find.

I have yet to find this style of point in Maine..mjm

Hello mhm!
What Maine types are you having success finding in your area?
