Yesterday, Always Seek The Treasure, gave us the view of an artifact that He wondered if it was an ax head. I was struck by an artifact that I have always thought of as a hoe or ax. It was said, by another member, that it could be a large preform used to supply material for points or knives. It raised the thought, to me, that mine could be a preform. It's milky quartz and there is evidence of chips taken off that I thought was shaping a hoe but could be the supply for smaller tools of which milky quartz is a most common lithic material here. Here is a picture of that artifact. Only have a cell phone camera, flaking on edges is hard to see but are definitely there. Very similar shape from many miles apart and maybe many years apart. It's about 6x4" <img src="http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1766069&stc=1" attachmentid="1766069" alt="" id="vbattach_1766069" class="previewthumb">
