That might be the least of your worries once you start. ;D What detector are you switching from?

I'd say you definitely stick with the stock coil and learn the basics.
 

iron patch started bounty hunter 505 got kind of zen with its sounds now whites xlt got good with that set it up so it got kind of minelab flutie sound on silver lots of digs i knew were silver before i dug them just by tones i knowby your post and others that sound is the key to the explorers and that the screen is just there listen hear dig what your ears tell you not numbers but sound sound sound im ready to have at it ive had lots of good finds coins in the 1700 and 1800,s big silver dollar walkers ect ready to explore with the best thaks fun any help i can get
 

once you get started all you need for the se is Iron Patch and Andy's book it helped me out lots :headbang:
