The general plan was to stick in the trashy area we found last week, as I felt something good must be hiding there. I was right but it was in terrible condition:
Saxon Penny of Edward the Confessor 1050-53
After lunch we decided to grid the Bronze Age Barrow & then try a new field. Nothing around the barrow (now totally ploughed out), & nothing in the long large field. At least the search is narrowing but lots more fields to try. (5 hours 15 minutes)
1 Scrappy
1 Jetton
1 Royal Farthing (1620s)
Northampton Corporation Tramway Button 1904-34 (another one I need)
2 Good Buckles
2 18th C Clog Clasps
GW Clarke Oundle Watch Winder - Staffurth Clarke and the Oundle Businesses
A very cool Heart shaped Tudor (16th C) Clothes Fastener, missing its hook - never seen this type.
