I got out for a few hours on Weds afternoon and hit a field that had just been planted in corn last Thursday and then had a very hard rain on it. It was washed down very flat and there was a lot of pieces exposed. I found 10 trayable points but nothing really killer. There is one nice Stemmed Point made from Flint Ridge that's not bad and the black Pine Tree would have a killer if it hadn't been damaged. I was hoping that was a Spokeshave in the side but it's not. I did find a nice big black Flint Celt with a good polished blade.

All of this was found in a spot I call the Utilized Flake Site since about 75% to 80% of the flakes you find will have a worked edge and today was no different. Every flake you see in that group photo has a worked edge and some of them more than one.

These pictures are of the days finds in the first 4 pictures. The next one shows the field and you see how flat it has washed down. The next picture shows you why. That is not a pond, that is a low spot in the field that is full of water from the storm. That are was dry last Sunday. There's also an in situ of the Flint Celt and a few of the cruder Knives

I'll have some more in situs in the next post.

Thats a perfect field for hunting, just how I like it.
You have done great.
I can't wait to get back to my old haunts.
Thanks for sharing Steve.

Molly.

Steve, nice man. Looks like you came close to snagging a couple bifurcates as well!

Awesome finds SRV.

It's amazing how easy it looks for folks up North and West of FL!

The farmers around here would flip out if they caught you in their corn before it sprouted!!! You must be related to him or good friends. :dontknow:

Good day Steve ! Would have liked to have been there with you. That field always gives back something.

You can't see from the pictures but the corn is up about 2 inches already in that field so the rows were very well marked.

Great hunt. The rains have laid that field flat for sure. Nice insitus and finds sir  Perfect..
