I found a whole bunch of clad, junk metal, and Wheaties (that I can't identify the years) just searching my backyard trying to get a feel since I'm new to the hobby.

I guess these were some of the best finds. Enjoy!

1. Looks like a handle to something
2. Huge Brass bullet
3. Some kind of button (looks like a dragon on a sword or maybe an anchor?)
4. Sweet bottle (I found a whole bunch of old broken coke bottles around this bottle too)

Welcome :hello:
Some nice finds indeed .
Love those Victorian trim things
Looks like you got a 'Full Brass shotshell' pretty rare to find one intact,
Tell us what the base says...
Better yet, closeup pix of both sides of the button & shotshell base ;D
looking forward to seeing more finds!

Very nice, I would like to see some more pix of that shotgun shell brass as well.
Welcome,

Nice start! It only gets more addictive. Just you wait. No better yet just you hunt and dig. you never know what you will find next. HHHH

Welcome to the hobby!!! Also AWESOME finds and really cool looking button!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I also found a button like yours, two, in fact. Someone in the know told me to go and get some bright new ones: Card of 3 for $1.99 at Joanne's. Dang if he wasn't right. The company that made those has been around for 125 years and has probably made 125 different varieties. Mine had 11 stars, and thinking I had a CSA button, I found a map and counted the members of the Confederacy. No match. Pure fantasy, or better put: designer. But that is what dreams are made of!

I got one too ;D
Was hoping for a closeup before mentioning this, those plump drumsticks, and anchor placement are just like the steelback repro I found.
Great digs anyway! lots of people would love to see more on that shotshell.

Does everyone in the world have one of those fake Confederate naval buttons? I really should have purchased the card--wouldn't it look great in the thread?

I think it is harder to get into the lawnmower coin club than the fake naval button club.
