New fisher rumor?

I was surfing the NET out of boredom yesterday and I seen a thread talking about Fisher maybe making a 2 freq waterproof surf machine to go against the mx sport? Anyone hear any of these rumors or have any info on this detector?
A waterproof 2 freq f75 would be killer!

Masterjedi - I second that I would rather buy Fisher over White's any day. I heard that the MX Sport is on the heavy side.

Fisher already has two detectors with two freq, the CZ-21 and CZ-6a. CZ-6a is or was the land version of the waterproof CZ-21.

It is possible. I loaned my Schiebel MIMID to Carl Moreland at Fisher/First Texas for about six months. Its claims to fame as a detector is that it is pulse induction, fold-able, and waterproof to 100 feet (and folded, it fits in my cargo pocket). So, maybe some of those qualities might just make it into the next generation of Fisher Detectors.






Would be nice to see something like this from them.

Wow! That seems like a very cool design! It seems perfect for nugget shooting when needing to hike into a spot.

THAT is why I got it. I used to use my X-Terra 70 for exploratory prospecting (read: hiking into a spot I haven't been before). Now, I just fold up the MIMID and go. If I find a decent patch, I bring in the old, heavy, modded SD2000 for the bigger deeper stuff. Great for taking into old mines and caves. Its also awesome for being unobtrusive. Nobody knows I have a detector unless I want them to.

Awesome design! Definitely easier than lugging the SD2000 around. I see some great deals on those SD's on craigslist, I know they have found a lot of gold.

Gollum, there is currently a CEIA CMD for sale in the inland empire craigslist, looks very similar to the MIMID.

I'd be happy with a modern version of the CZ-21... something using surface mount technology so they thing isn't like a brick and doesn't need 4 9V's to run! I'm fine with the basic functionality.

I believe the CEIA is only water resistant to 10 meters. The Schiebel is waterproof to 33 meters (100 feet).

First, The MIMID uses 4 AA Batteries, not 9v.

Second, I HIGHLY doubt you will ever find a more ruggedly built motherboard than something built as MIL-SPEC for being waterproof, dustproof, dropable from 6 feet, radiation shielded, not bothered by EFI, etc. My Schiebel is rugged, foldable to fit in my cargo pocket, sensitive (small coil), Pulse Induction (goes deep), and is waterproof to 100 feet. Show me another detector anywhere near $1000 with all those features (although new, my Schiebel cost Uncle Sam almost $4000)?

The biggest drawbacks to using military detecting equipment are:

1. Difficult to find parts and get work done on them
2. This equipment was designed for a specific purpose, and everything built into it serves that purpose....detecting mines. It is not purpose built to find gold and silver. Luckily, it can do both.

I think people just start to feel latin, being we are actually still in (formerly) Mexico & surrounded by Latins, lol. Mike, the Gemini 2 box seems to be a great tool to have for a treasure hunter. Have you had any success with it?
