Hello, first post, seems to be alot of treasure coast people here.I am looking into buying a Goldquest SS for salt water detecting In the treasure coast area of Florida..My question is that when I look at the beaches there are very few people there (Sebastion area). So is the gold and silver you find in the water at low tide new or old.Does jewelry stay where it was dropped or will riptides move it to more deserted parts of the beach?I know I Will never learn that much about wave actions and currents at this later stage in life but would appreciate any info. Also any opinions on the Goldquest SS? Thank you for your great site,so much info here. Seb

The Sleepers suggestion that you visit thegoldenolde.com/ site is a good one. You will learn much reading it.

Oh, I am not the same Sandman you read about on the site. I have met old Norm though and He is the one that showed me the "Happy Dance" years ago. Reminded me of Soupy Sales.

The Goldquest is a PI detector and it is deep for the sifting sands at a coast. However, it will love small iron targets an you will dig deep for them. It is better to at least know something is down there than not hearing it at all. I am to old now to dig giant holes to many times so I use an Excal 1000.

Good Luck,
Sandman
