Damnails and I hunted a new spot today and we both had a great hunt. Here is my take for the day. I found several buttons today and four of them had designs which is unusual for us. I found a toe tap and several brass relics. One is what I think a piece from a candle holder. Also found a 1827 large cent that has been assaulted, someone tried to pock her eye out! Other than that it's in good shape. We had a fun day, hope everyone else did. Thanks for looking. Does this make them brothers in buttons? They're scary close!

That's cool!! I think the button at the top left in the first picture is also the same. I can't get it to clean up enough to see in picture. The CTX likes buttons.

On tombacs like that one I use Naval jelly. Cleans them up nicely. Also aluminum jelly which is a bit weaker. I use the jelly on tombac, and gilted buttons, but on regular buttons it'll ruin the patina.

Nice digs rn, I bet that LC was a good luck piece and had a "Paste stone" or another type glued in the eye socket. Maybe even a drop of paint. Just a thought.... That CTX is doing you right.
