Howdy, liking this site already and hoping to learn a bunch.

I live on the west coast, and I've already found a few things just eye-balling the sand at the beach (best score so far is a 14kt gold bracelet which I just had appraised at $197). Getting a metal detector here pretty quick to see what else the tourists got careless with. 8-)

Main interest is in prospecting though and it looks like this would be a good place to start getting an education.

So, hello to all fellow seekers of shiny stuff.

Welcome to the forum. This is a GREAT place to read up and learn. Congrats on your bracelet find!

Welcome from Hurricane Sandy, New Hampshire. We're taking a licking right now...but we'll keep on ticking. At least as long as we have power! :laughing9:

Husband and I go out beach hunting...can't wait for the storm to pass...do some fields, parks and cellar holes, too. Best finds: 14kt (7.1 grams) wedding band (beach find) and 1892 Indian head penny (park find).

MD is a great hobby and TNet is a great place to meet people, get advice and have fun.

Anita

Man! I've been talking to some friends on the east coast who are waiting for Frankenstorm to hit. They say they're expecting 90mph winds. ???

Stay safe.

Thanks Anita, and I hope the storm stirs up the ocean floor, brings up some good stuff buried at the bottom, and dumps it on your beach for you to find: like an old chest full of Spanish Doubloons from a sunken pirates galleon. :icon_thumleft:
