New Guy with a Whites MXT

I have been detecting for about a month now and have found 1 Silver ring, lots of clad and lots of pulltabs and junk, I would Like to hear from someone with a machine like mine who could maybe give some advice or suggestions on particular settings.This machine has 3 modes coin and jewelry,relic mode,and prospecting mode which may not have been the best choice for a newby. I live 60 miles north of Atlanta and tomorrow is going to be extremely cold but I'm going to try to get acouple of hours of m'ding in anyway. Cherokee1955

Good, I have a metal detector similar to urs (XLT) (Whites) ummm it the MXT has AC sensetivity turn it up to 68-71 i like 69, Try to make slow smooth swings, (not too slow) use a small shovel and pinpointer, (if u don't have one its ok i don't have one ethier ) thats about all i can give u right now, HH CS
