I found this awesome looking japanese plnter but i cannot find any information online so far, there's what i believe is a hallmark as well as some writing, if anyone has any information or can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Try posting in the "what is it forum" with as much detail as you can think of. Also measurements, photos of find in outside natural light, closeups of hallmarks. The more information you provide the better. Sorry, other then that, I don't have any knowledge of that type. I'm sure in the right forum there are others that can help you out.

Yeah that character on the front is most definitely Chinese. All Japanese characters are much simpler than Chinese characters, although Chinese is occasionally mixed into Japanese writing. See the link to languages in my signature.
