Saving Our Colonial Past: Metal Detecting Secrets in the Soil

About this video:
"This video highlights the historic collaboration between the Southampton Historical Museum of Southampton, NY and the Artifact Detecting Team (ADT), a group of dedicated metal detecting hobbyists who seek out the thrill and potential of discovering once-in-a-lifetime relic finds such as coins, buttons, buckles or other items that date back to the establishment of our nation by the earliest settlers. The ADT's main goal is to work together with local Historical Societies, across the United States, to help raise funds for the preservation and restoration of America's historically significant properties - in particular those properties built during the era of pre-Revolutionary America. In doing so we hope to build a new and lasting partnership with progressive Historical Societies across the US."
