Have been reading a bit on this forum and thought I'd register as now and then I have a thought or question. Grew up mostly in AZ, and back in the mid-1960's I met Clarence Mitchell (aka Travis Marlowe) when I was visiting relatives and he came by to talk to my uncle. Don't know how they knew each other, but my recall is that Mr. Mitchell was talking about his need to raise money to finance his searches in the Superstitions. I got a copy of his book.

That experience, plus knowing about the LDM legend, plus the fact that the Superstition Mtns as seen driving from Globe to Phoenix often as a child instilled a "that's Home" feeling deep down, has kept me interested in the whole mystery.

Am more of a "hunt and peck" treasure hunter. If the thought occurs to me, I'll poke around. Do have a cheap metal detector that the packrats had a party with a year or so ago.

Much appreciate all the information that many have spent a great deal of time learning and sharing.
