Hi All, I have joined the group to learn more about two artifacts I have. One is a part copper rice bowl bowl from the Het Huis te Kraaiestien that was wrecked in Oudekraal South Africa in 1698. The other a silver coin (I think a reale?) found in the UK when I was a child. The bowl has a very unusual stamp/marking in the base I would love to know what it means. It looks like a very stylised C, I and E combined. Or maybe a C, E and a Fleur de Lis. I'd like to communicate with anyone that may have an interst in these items. Once I get the hang of the site I will post a couple of posts on each item.
