hi everyone, new member here, but i've been reading the forum for a while.

today i finally went and got some halves from the local banks, $36 worth of halves was all i got and some $2 dollar bills.
best thing was a 2009 half, are they worth keeping since they made less of them?
i also got about 5 practically uncirculated 2 dollar bills
has anyone had any luck finding old $2 bills at banks?

Welcome to the forum!! I learned about CRHing from here so I know you are in the right place.

As regards to the 2009 half, even though it is of lower mintage and NIFC, it is really only worth face value.

There have been many forum members that have found old $2 bills, along with red seals & star notes. Most banks should be able to order those in for you. I got two $200 straps of them recently from a major bank chain.

how long do you wait till you go back to the bank you just cleared out, considering that you're not getting boxes of coins from them?

Personally if I'm looking for CWR I wait at least a week. My area is hit fairly hard, so I don't want to annoy any tellers and burn any bridges. I'm usually pressed for time and my average visits are once every 2 - 4 weeks. Most of my time is spent on boxes, as those are where I've had my very best finds. You just have to get into a routine that works best for your and your area.

My first month was last Nov, and I did mostly teller tray finds and a couple of boxes that already were in the bank (but I hadn't ordered). The CWR was getting hard to find. The next month I started ordering boxes in fairly high volume and found 10x the Ag and found my first proofs and commemoratives. For my box orders, they are weekly and so I am in those branches at least once a week.

Some people alternate which branches you order from to do pickups every two weeks. If you're fortunate to find the nice branches you can get them to order weekly, once again you just have to feel it out in your area.

Dumping is a whole other beast.

Are you dumping there, or just wondering about when new CWR will come in. For dumping, allocate a different bank. For CWRs, go to different banks around the county or city, so you have more to search.
