Hi guys and gals. I have a new Garrett AT Gold arriving tomorrow, Friday the 14th. Ordered it from Bart at Big Boys Hobbies. Nice guy.
I got my first metal detector about 30 years ago, a Radio Shack model that didn't have the forearm support. After swinging that thing about an hour my wrist would tell me, 'enough!' Gave it up after a few months.
I'm semi-retired now and am interested in finding meteorites, gold and whatever else I can find in the desert while keeping in mind the BLM rules. The local parks have a no digging policy and metal detecting at Lake Mead is completely banned so I don't see much opportunity in those areas.
Enough rambling. I've read quite a few of the posts and the people here seem to be very helpful. Thanks for a great forum. I hope I will be able to share and contribute.
