I have been detecting for more than 30 years and was a Fisher dealer back in the 80's in N'ONT.
Still using a 1266X but this year it may be a new one.
I have 4 months in Florida and 8 in Ontario, and last year took up the hobby again in earnest as I was having trouble getting up and down from a crouch, (not couch), so thought detecting would be good exercise for that.
It was and I got hooked again even tho I will be 68 tomorrow.
5 Gold rings this year, 1 with large diamonds in FL plus 4 around home. Also silver and clad and silver coins, plus a half ton of trash.
(One thing about Canada is Loonies and Toonies so the cash can add up pretty fast).
Couple of pics of 2016 finds attached. Heading for FL soon as the ground is pretty much froze here.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, it snowed a foot here in ON today and we do not leave for Port Charlotte until Jan 1. Pretty much have to wait a bit I guess, but I will be posting once I am back at it in FL.
Cheers and if any TH'ers are in that area of FL in Jan Feb Mar Apr send a note if you want to teach an old dog some new detecting tricks!
