Truth, I've had some good results with 40khz as a "checker" for iron. Like Smokey said though digging the iffy ones is the way to go. Plus, the more you remove the better resolution you'll get on items that are/were partially or fully masked.

HighVDI, you are correct. Having been given the ok to "do anything I want" by my doctor, I have started cleaning out "aluminum can hell" at my CW site. You will be blown away soon. Still digging it. My stamina is not up to date and it's been too hot.

Its interesting to note that the actors in the ad appear to be 40ish . For some reason I thought this detector was more aimed at the younger market....thinking that most guys 40 and up would have chosen the equinox. I know - a lot of assuming and generalising.

Only speculation I've heard it is less expensive than the 600. Designed to compete with the Garrett ACE series. If there is any truth to it, it would be more an entry level machine. The age of the actors would probably be an attempt to show "seasoned" detectorists like it. But all speculation and not worth anything.

I think it's obvious they are gunning for Garrett. Garrett needs to innovate! And not necessarily multi frequency. Could be a lot of innovations, like a really hot discriminator.

Make no mistake, a Garrett in the right hands can whoop arse with it. My one digging buddy can tell you 95% of the time what KIND of coin it is coming out of the ground.
