And I suppose you'd like more than "Yes, it will happen sometime!"

IF this were to happen I will be very interested to understand what is new and how it compares to the just superseded models.

How's the weather in your area? Supposedly some remnants of a tropical storm are coming and possibly Sunday 40%/Monday80%/Tuesday 40% chance of a LOT of Rain.

They both have plans for new detectors, White's will likely be a replacement for the TDI series, Garrett have spoken of a NEW machine, (game changing PI) LOL which minelab will laugh at yet again..

Minelab will be releasing a new updated GPX xxxx machine within the next few months..

Coooool for minelab maybe I will sell my car and buy one. I bet any new P.I detectors coming out will be in the 2k Plus range at least.

Yeah, I own the old GP Extreme for good reason, $6595 for a GPX 5000 is just out of my price range.. I paid $2200 for what i have, and it has to do the job..

I have asked the people at Whites three times in the last 6 months if they had any new PI machines in production or even development and was told flat out "NO." Then again as they in the military; "the best place to hide a secret is in a cloud of deception."

I read somewhere just a few days ago that they had a new machine set to replace the TDI... Though as always it could be a load of crap...

The mysteries of life are solved for those who wait patiently. This is why I am bald........................63bkpkr

The people at Whites told me that sales for the TDI SL were really good, TDI Pro OK and the standard TDI (and GMZ) were going out of production. Many TDI SL machines were sold in Africa (Congo) I was told. Whites engineer; the late Dan Guyer made all of the specialty TDI coils and the management team is trying to figure out which coils to continue producing.

I want to get out shooting as soon as it cools down this fall. Not sure if I should wait for the new Garrett or jump on a used GPX when I get the chance...

Hopefully whatever replaces the TDI line is actually based off of it. They'd be idiot's to mess with the TDI SL and the Pro, but who in the world told them the GMZ was the way to go? And at $500? At meetings now, that person is probably being told to sit in the corner and color. They could get some interest in the GMZ if they dropped the price to $400, then experienced prospector's would get one for back up or for a newbie to go out with them. Then newbies' would get it because $400 is much easier to swallow for a hobby you don't even know if you'll like. If I'm going to save $500 for a detector, I'd rather wait and save $150 more and get a gold detector with more features. When they set their price at $500, they just got greedy.

GMZ was rather a flop... Whose ******* idea was it to make a gold machine without threshold? ... With that single option added they would have sold a lot more units..

I Personally think the TDI pro and TDI SL are really great machines, though i think the SL is a rather pointless addition to the lineup.. More stability less sensitivity and depth, all to save an lb?
They would have been better off upgrading the TDI Pro.. To something like the TDI Pro SE..

The TDI Pro is comparable to the SD 2200v2 or GP Extreme... Capable but not on par with the GPX machines... Which at the price point is acceptable..
Garrett might just pull something out to compete with White's, and maybe even give the older Minelab machines a nudge.. We shall see I guess..

Anyway just my 2 cents :)

Sorry but, There is no way a TDI Pro could come close to the performance of a 2200V2.....

That's why I said comparable. not better..
