Got a new permission yesterday on a yard of a 1930's home near my father's house. Had a couple hours to burn, so my 7 year old son and I decided to hit it. I am currently running an XP Deus and my son just has the children's model bounty hunter. We Immediately started finding clad coins when we were near the road, but the closer we got to the home the older the stuff got. Overall we pulled around $20 in clad, however the highlights of the day were the silvers and buffaloes we found. In the end we finished the two hours with 2 Buffalo nickels, 2 Mercury dimes, 3 silver nickels and a silver baby spoon. On the way back to the truck, we hit one more faint signal and decided to dig it. Around 7-8 inches deep we found a 10k gold ring with a cat's eye stone. The ring had an inscription of initials and a date, which turned out to be the owner's son. He had lost the ring sometime around 1975-76, and was quite pleased to have it returned to him! So that's a BONUS!!! Another good thing is that the yard had 4 vehicles that were parked in it, which are not typically there, so there's much more ground to cover in the future! Overall great day!
