Firstly thanks to Land-Mag for hunting this one out & the lift today as Dad is away.
Picture 1 is Dads 7 Roman Coins he had from this site the other day.
This site is new to us this year but it is known about locally & has been detected.
The conditions were bad (disced up lumps) but I had to try it....I lasted 5 hours trying to keep up right & did really well:
My first Roman Silver (heavily plated) this year! Gordian III:icon_thumright:
20 Roman Bronze Coins
Broken Roman Childs bracelet
Tudor Buckle
Tudor Belt Mount
A nice Bronze Figure that I thought was a Pendant, I now think its a fancy Roman Nail Cleaner (I will research later):headbang:

Nice figurine, what's the size? Is the silver a counterfeit?

Great hunt

60mm tall.

No its a copper-core real one, they did this in some periods.

I see, cool coin.. It seems like your soil conditions are very similar to mine. Your brass and copper comes out with the same red or purple tint.. You beat the odds with that coin having most of the plating right? It seems like about 1/10 of the CW buttons that were plated have any left here.

Hi Cru! Congrats on your first roman silver this year! Get many more, the best time is coming! Nice Figure/nail cleaner too!

Congrats my friend the first silver this year!
Hope coming more!

I can't find anything similar to my nail cleaner, I think it's very, very rare;

'However, perhaps the star of the last few years is this rather unassuming nail cleaner from the Daventry area, which thus far is unparalleled anywhere in Europe'

Some Brit guys never get one, or someone told me he had one & I said 'this year' 'no in 20 years'.

Clearly you need the right site & one that hasn't been done too well, as they normally come off quite quick.

That nail cleaner is awesome, and a roman silver, couldnt be better!!

Congrats
