Detector(s) used
I've swung White's (MXT), Minelab (Safari) & currently run with an Omega 8000 by Teknetics & Fisher CZ-3D (1021 Model)

All Treasure Hunting
Hey Hunters,

New Safari user here. Can ya'll share what mode you guys normally run in and some of the "tweaks" you use to get the most out of your units?

1. What mode do you run in? Coin, coin & jewelry, relic or all metal?

2. Will running in all metal get more depth on the detector (like other brands do)?

3. Do most of you prefer using the 2 tones or 4 tones?

Thanks!

Not a safari user But

I'd run in relic

If I Didn't like finding Relics

max Disc i would say coin & jewelry

All Metal is a pain unless your doing Civil war fields

Coin would Knock out all but coins, very large shallow gold
coins and rings,
aluminum cans, brass and other large objects

unless the Safari does more then I Think

If you run in all metal, there is no discrimination. This will be the deepest setting. As with any detector, the more discrimination, the less depth. I run my safari in coins and coins/jewellery mode.

Are you having problems?

If you use a program you are letting the detector make the choices and not you. :-X

1 - A small amount of disc. which I guess would be closest to relic, but I would use a man. adjustment if I could and not use a program.

2 - Maybe a little, but the top Minelabs are very good at reading non ferrous targets accurately even at the limit of their depth. Dropping down those extra couple of notches into all metal eliminates this great technology and makes you waste a lot of time digging deep iron trash.

3 - 4

Safari does not have a choice of tones!

When I use the Safari I just disc the first few bars and make sure you don't set it to low trash. Keep it in high trash because the carryover sound will drive you nuts. Otherwise it is just as deep as anything out there.

when i first got mine...i started using it in coin/jewl mode. After getting used to it..i wanted to try all metal. I got more depth and found more rings coins etc. and with no disc.(no elimination of anything) but..you must go slower in higher trash areas .
