Been detecting for a few years with another kind of machine and decided to get an SE Pro to try out this year. I was patiently waiting for the ground to thaw, spending my time reading about the machine and watching Youtube videos, hahaha. Anyways I got out for a few hours and pulled over 50 clad coins, 2 junk rings, 3 wheats,Museum of the Rockies token, my first ever Susan Anthony dollar, SE's first silver coin (64 rosie), and a silver whatsit. It looks like some sort of container or vessel, but not sure. It is marked sterling and the flower end of it is crushed and looks like at one point it was more of a bulb shape. The open end of the whatsit has crimps like it was either hooked to something or plugged with something. It is small and reminds me of a snuff bottle, but that is just a wild guess. Anyone know what this is? Thanks for looking and any help you can give on ID. Love this machine, the deep signals are a lot stronger than I am used to.

The silver thing is probably a piece of a manicure set or a buttonhook. DD

I believe the whatzit is a silver handle for a piece of flatware. Many of the more modern pieces are made with the handle separate then the tang slides into the handle and is soldered with silver. My 2 cents. Nice finds. An idea occurred to me. It is possibly a hairbrush or other manicure handle like these:
