Hey all!
As some of you know, I do not produce upper shafts for the Manticore, or Equinox 700/900 (for a couple of reasons). While I do produce middle and lower shafts for both, a consequence of me not producing an upper shaft, has been the inability to attach one of my SDR counterweights to either of these units...
...UNTIL NOW!
I have just finished prototyping on an adapter that allows counterweight attachment to either of these units (or any shaft that utilizes a 20mm inner diameter "round" shaft).
The production version of this adapter is made of anodized, black powder-coated aluminum, and includes a stainless-steel screw (plus 3mm Allen wrench). The adapter is designed to install easily by simply sliding it into the butt end of the shaft, and then by tightening the screw, it "expands" to secure firmly to the inside walls of the shaft (similar to the "gooseneck" design that holds a bicycle's handlebars to the bike frame). The beauty of this, is that the adapter can also be easily UNINSTALLED, if necessary (i.e. by simply loosening the screw, and sliding it out of the shaft). Thus, since it is not a permanent alteration of the shaft, it WILL NOT void the shaft's factory warranty.
The "basic kit" (adapter with screw, plus Allen wrench) runs $35 plus $5 shipping; adding a counterweight and making it a "complete kit" runs $75 plus $10 shipping.
