I was on my way to an old site when I passed a place that looked like it had everything going for it. I took a quick hike for a visual and it was detector worthy, so I spent 45 minutes and had excellent results.

I weeded through a lot of iron, found a few flat buttons, and ended up with this. Turned it to be a 1749 KG2. (Pics are coming)

Dug an axe head, then found this 12" away. I'm sure it's also a George, I'm just not sure which one yet.

I had to leave 45 minutes after starting due to my schedule, but I'm happy to say the site has a lot of promise. I'll be back there today hopefully for another quick one. I'll post the flat buttons and other finds this afternoon, along with the (hopefully) cleaned coins

I doubt they will be very impressive. They didn't come from a farm but they're both reasonably roached.

I certainly was happy. One in the first 5 minutes and one in the last 5 minutes. Lol. Cheers bud

I found 5 big coppers in three years!

You got 2 in 45 minutes... something is wrong with my watch!

Best to you brother.

Always nice to see those big green disks in that black dirt. Excellent hunt man!

It takes me 5 hours to do what you get done in 45 minutes. Congrats on the old coppers

Hey now! Behold the crust of the ages!

I'm starting to think you know what you're doing ;)

You have a gift in following your gut and keeping your eyes open; it's a true talent to recognize or see what the pioneers were seeing a few hundred years ago and the potential the site has.

Keep at it!!

It's large copper country up here. I'm sure with your skill and detecting talent you would have a pile of you own coppers if you lived up North.

Much appreciated Bill. I posted one cleaned copper and one is still being tortured. I thought they would come out better but the ground won this time.

Cheers buddy

Haha. Being in my late 30's allows me the gift of "youth" lol.

Thanks for the kind words IH. But you give me way too much credit. I use the Roomba technique, bumping into everything until I finally find something. Lol.

Nice job Bud. Sounds like virgin ground to me. Just think what a few hours may produce. Should be some cool relics there too. Good luck.
