I have sites just falling into my lap now. My brother in law who does customer granite countertops was working on a farm place the customer mentioned how they found a bunch old horseshoes an how this place used to be an orchard outside of old salado, texas. So he told them how i take the nephew out treasure hunting an they were estatic asking if i could remove all the big metal (iron) out of the yard they kept hitting with the lawnmower an said i could hunt the field ( ie old orchard) anytime. First house built 1865 now the garage. second house built 1962. Pond on property spring fed. Hope to have pictures on tuesday.

several cache recoveries have been made in or behind old 1800s orchards...good luck

Jasonbo, I vaguely remember seeing something about salado on a TV show on the history channel called "MEGA MOVERS". They moved a 115 year old church a few miles away. They talked a little about the old west figures that had frequented the area. That's about all I can remember about the episode. It sounds very promising I look forward to seeing what you find. Good Luck.
