Hope everyone is staying safe and able to get out a little. Found a new spot recently and Secondstar, ACOJoe, and one of our other hunting buddies have been hitting it pretty hard. This is where Joe found the Tiffany silver knife and Mike a Vermont copper, see their recent posts. Amazing range of finds, my first coin out of there was a 1964 Rosie and just yesterday Mike found a 1797 Large and Joe found what we think is a 1773 Virginia Half Penny.

Met an old-timer on the trail and he said the whole area was once strawberry fields and picnic areas. It's all now public land use, over 700 acres. I've emptied out my pouch four or five times:

Haven't even started going through all the buttons and buckles. Here are some of my keepers:

I'd like to return the ring if I can, it has initials so I should be able to find the owner. I searched on Google and found the yearbook but they want $20 to join to view it. Does anyone know of a free site where you can access alumni records?

That would be awesome if you could return that ring! This is one of our better spots, and so close to home!

Steve, the school should have the yearbooks in the library, but unfortunately there's most likely nobody there you can call.

Lots of great coins & relics. Congrats on the finds. You should be able to either call or email the school. I'm sure they are more than willing to help you out.

What school is it from?

I would visit the High School directly. Take the ring and show them, but do not leave it with them. Ask them if you can research the initials, or if they will do it for you. If they do it for you, leave your phone number so they can call the ring owner who can call you to give you information to send it back. Or, just keep trying on the internet and hope for the best. Another option, is to pay the $20.00 and if you locate the owner, you can accept a $20.00 reward to cover your expenses. If they dont offer a reward, just sit back and wait for your good karma to show up and write off the $20.00. I wish you the best of luck in the return. Nice job on the old coin shooting. Those are some nice ones.

What are the initials?

Awesome pile of treasure!

try and find a school website - now a days they have them
with school being out might be hard to call
ive had a hard time 3 times calling in past trying to make a return - they dont or wont give out personal info but worth a try

You definitely don’t have to pay for any service. You may have to wait until school starts again, but as soon as you get someone on the phone with the school, they will be able to help you. Please don’t pay money for the service

I've had my best luck with year books by going through the school librarian. I've had even better luck on Facebook and class reunion chairs. Fellow classmates many times know the people, their name changes and new last names, their whereabouts, and sometimes even the story of the loss.

That's a great idea, looking at that now, thanks to everyone for your suggestions

Wow look at all the stuff in that pouch dumping it out a fgew times those are the hunts I love and dont get many of. Great coins also. I actually called the School once and they contacted the person themselves and had the person call me they loved doing that. it was a good ring return....Good luck. .......Tommy

Steve, I have access to classmates.com and they have some of the yearbooks to that school, but the yearbooks only go back to 1970.

That's quite a marvolous collection of finds! Well done. Rearding the ring...Could you contact the school directly? I'm imagining that someone would be able to help you.

Outstanding hunt, congrats! :occasion14:
