Found a new spot today. I came upon an apple tree in the middle of nowhere. Where I'm from theres nothing but pine so I figured it must have been an old homestead. Pulled the detector out and started getting signals everywhere. I detected for an hour before a thunderstorm rolled in and chased me off. My username might be rainorshine but that doesn't include getting struck by lightning. Anyways, I managed to these items before having to leave. I know the one is from a model t ford. The gold plated deal may have been some sort of cuff link. It has a patent date of Dec. 1886 or 87. Finally, I need help with the little plate. It says... The "Gem" Saftey Razor Stropping Machine. Hopefully more to come. Thanks

Nice finds, way to follow the signs of old habitation.

Nice finds congrats. The one piece may be the brass top from an old stropping belt that used to be on barber chairs
