Hunted down in Chickamauga Ga on some new land. The place is huge and just learning it. I skipped over a lot but hope it will produce some Cw relics.

Some of the junk minus all the horse shoes and ploughs. I only hit certain areas as this place is very large. It is near the city of Chickamauga ,Ga. Hopefully I can narrow it down some but like the variety so far. Owners were very nice and welcomed me back any time.
Thanks for looking!

Looks like a good hunt brother. All I managed was a few flat buttons, a drawer pull, and a reins guide. Love the button. HH

Now that's a sweet looking eagle!!!!

MTS,.THAT BUTTON GOT A HECK OF A SHINE TO IT. ALSO IS THE CUP FOR DRINKING OR MEASURING POWDER NEAT GROUP OF RELICS.

Thanks guys.
Tn guns I will hunt flat buttons any day with you
Basqu-man thank you. The coat button was from troops who used the battlefield to train on after the civil war. This was on private land though.
Sutphin aluminum jelly is a miracle on gilt buttons. I think the little cup was a kitchen item. There are four 115 year old houses on this land. I tried to stay away from the houses till another hunt but picked up that and the coin near one.

Richard, you are on to a great spot. That's a killer button. Summer relics in Tenn. are a premium. WTG, Q.

Man that button cleaned up great. Amazing all the gilt after all this time

Real good looking button, wish they all came out of the ground like yours. Clean up nice. Nice digs.

That aluminum jelly stuff does look to do miraculous cleaning, guess I need to get some of that for my cleaning arsenal. Just in case I do find a good button someday :laughing7:

Like opening a whole new chapter, ain't it? A brand new, very large place to wander around? Looks like a very nice start too!

Maybe you should try the aluminum jelly on the V-Nickel. ;)

Great button! Looks like you are in the right place. Continued success and happy hunting!

Thanks guys.
Whadifind .....I actually did on a corner with the jelly it looked copper so soaked in a warm hydrogen peroxide bath. It was well worn and almost smooth all I can see is a vague shape and an out line of the coronet. The date is there but appears it may come off in the next cleaning. I cant read it. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Here is that button after tooth picking and q-tip

Then after using the Aluminum jelly

That button looks to be near perfect! Very glad you posted, because I am missing the CW era relics from the Trio.

I think the "Trio" go into a deep hibernation in the summer and will start waking up when they hear the hay bailing tractors being parked:laughing7:.Yeah, I miss their videos too.
