Hangtowndiggins and I did some road work on our claim today. After we were done we went to an area a few minutes away that I stumbled across last weekend when I was out detecting. I found this stuff called WATER..since I could actually be able to pan I decided to come back this weekend. Yesterday I popped some slate slabs off and got like two flypoop.....then I scraped some gravel off of a hi lump of bedrock and uncovered two smooth depressions with small cracks in the bottom, and got the majority of my gold for the day.
Today we poked around in an area I pushed up to before I headed out yesterday. More water and bedrock everywhere is at the end of a short steep section of the creek. I sampled some steep areas with filled cracks and had several skunk pans. Moved back to where Hangtowndiggins was, and started hunting bedrock. Raking the loose over burden away I ended up panning about 1.5 Sq feet of bedrock and the 8 inches on top of it. The bedrock was dropping Hangtowndiggins was on bottom about a foot lower than me....I had a lip starting to form on the bedrock. He had wet material got some Gold, lead like me and a piece of an old brass buckle. my hole stayed dry. Looks like there's gonna be a nice drop between where each of us punched down.

i'll take you in Joe its a nice shady spot easy walk...only slight jungle. should be sluice-able with one good rain.

Sounds great. Fridays are good.

That's very doable Joe much shorter walk than your used to longer drive though

Nice shine Wash :icon_thumright: . Hope yall get into a hung up batch or two ..... or three ..... or four ...........................

Looking good guys!

I will text you about this Friday. have some arrangements to get worked out to make it happen. Ready to Go.

Awesome new spot GW! Endless bedrock and great looking areas to test within the new spot. Green soupy near still pools of WATER never looked so good! Can't wait to see what that crack between our two small test digs is holding.. Good luck if you hit it on Friday fellas. Thanks again GW, I'll be back up asap for sure!..

The bit of color I got from 6 pan loads.. And a square nail eyeball find on our walk back up the hillside to the truck..
