new to coin roll hunting...

So I started coin roll hunting a few months ago when I read an article about copper in coin world. I collected a few coffee cans of copper pennies before I tried anything else. I had no luck with any of the nickel, dime, quarter, or halve rolls I purchased. I saw all of the amazing finds you guys got on this site so I decided maybe I wasn't getting enough rolls at once. I asked for 30 dollars in nickels on Wednesday and I got 3 silver war nickels and 1 Buffalo nickel! (1923 P) I definitely wasn't expecting that.

Anyways, just thought I'd share it with you guys. I'm going to try my hand at half dollars again next week. (been through about 13 rolls with no luck so far)

Thanks! I have to admit, when I first looked at this site I thought to myself "these people finding Buffalo nickels and Mercury Dimes must buy thousands of rolls to get those". Now that I know how easy it can be I'm officially addicted

btw 13rolls of halves is nothing to be upset about being skunked. I've been skunked in my last 200 rolls which is common unfortunately. To make some silver in halves you must do more volume. But that doesn't mean you can't get lucky with 5 solid rolls from one bank trip. You just increase your odds of getting lucky with more volume. HH and good luck

Welcome, I'm new myself to the forum here. Nice score especially for $30 in nickels. Since restarting this a month ago we've done on the order of $700 in nickels and only found 4 war nickels, and not a single buffalo. Great job, and keep it up!
