Hello all, I have been detecting for about 1.5 years with an Ace 350. I am really addicted to this hobby. My second detector will be ordered soon (Garrett AT Pro). I reside in Central Oregon where it has been unseasonably warm this year which has made for way more detecting time. The hardest thing I struggle with is where to go.

glad to have ya bndiggin

Welcome, fairly new here myself.
Great learning site.
Enjoy.

Welcome BnDiggin!

Yes, the most difficult part of our hobby is to gain access to all the wonderful places depicted in the literature and in our minds. If we think about it, that difficulty is the reason why there is still lots of treasure available!

Join a club, consider paying to be a member of a group that has permission to search rich sites (there is one in Virginia that is active in searching Civil War sites), talk to older folks about your new hobby and the frustrations you have had finding a place to detect. Many have considerable property and knowledge or know someone who can grant you permission.

Welcome, that lake looks like a good spot. You have gold country in your state, you might consider the AT Gold unless you want to use it in saltwater.
