New to magnet fishing

I have been magnet fishing a few times. Even posted some videos of me doing it on youtube. Its called "the wandering fools". Anyway. Does anyone have any pointers on what size magnet to use?

I personally like the magnets in the 400 lb range.

I'm no expert by any means but I know people that know people that use a11/2 dai. Magnet(industrial grade) with a pull rating of 200 lb. I was an Industrial sales rep for 38 years and sold these to coal mines.

I do own a couple of the neodymium 200 magnets and found them a bit lite. We went to the 350 and 400 ratings and we have been much happier. I built a couple of the 400s back to back and fell in love with that design.
