New to magnet fishing

I am looking to get into magnet fishing as I live close to a large river.y only concern is what do I do if the magnet gets caught on something in the middle of the river and I can’t get it unstuck. Any suggestions? I know most times it’s try pulling from a different angle but I’d be shire fishing essentially.

Swim out there and pull it straight up

It’s sort of a really strong river.

Holt, just find the bridges and work off them the area close and under on the up stream side and the area out to about 50 to 57 feet on the down stream side. Working form the side will probably be somewhat non productive. bridges with walkway incorporated on the sides of the roadway seem to be the best.

Sounds good. I was hoping to fish from the bank because I am going to be working some areas that were popular during the fur trade in my area.
