New to MD. Garrett Master Hunter?

I am looking to purchase my first MD, have never used a MD and am considering a Garrett Master Hunter. I am looking to use it on several old homesteads that are located on my private property. Any input would be appreciated.

Hello Sue and Welcome to TN. You really did not state if the GMH is a new detector or a used one your looking at. I have a GMH CX II which is a older detector that belonged to my Dad. It's around 15 years old and still looks and works perfectly. The newer GMH Plus detectors are probably basically the same as my CX II except they have a digital readout, this is just a guess they being the same since I've not tried one them out.My understanding is that there's not really been any mind blowing technology works in the detector world but they have had improvements added as time goes on.

As far as choosing a first detector the Garrett Ace 250 is a hard to beat detector for the price of around $200.00 bucks. I just recently bought a Ace 250 and really do like it. The only thing about the Ace 250 is I don't think it likes saltwater that much, but thats not a problem where I live. Either unit GMH or Ace 250 should work well for the old homesites,parks,playgrounds,etc. Good luck with your choice and HH.

if it is a cx3 you won't be disappointed...little hard to get the hang of at first but once you do its on,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
