New to metal detecting in North Carolina

I purchased a White's MXT metal detector three years ago, but haven't used it much, primarily because I don't know where I can use it (other than my own backyard). It would be nice to be in a club. Does anyone here know of a metal detecting club near High Point, NC? I'd hate to get arrested digging up a quarter...hee, hee, hee. Thanks, Karen.

Too wet to dig after the rain we've had, but I've been gleaning good information from this site. I need to get out and practice.
