New to Metal Detecting

Ok my names Mike iam new to all this i just got a used garrett GTA x 400. and just wanted to know if this is a detecter for a newbie.

The Garrett GTA 400 is a good entry level detector that is quite deep. It will give you a lot of coins, relics and jewelry. BTW, Welcome to the Tnet.

Don't worry about the starter unit. This doesn't mean it lacks finding things for fun. It just means after people swing it for awhile they start thinking about an "upgrade" for more features that they think they need.

By the way manufacturers, we don't need XM radio on our detector just because you can include it easily.

I had one for a while and it was a real coin killer. I sold it to a friend who wanted to start detecting. I think they are an outstsanding starter unit.

thank you did a little Detecting in my yard today found a penny 1969 its a start i still need to get me some equipment.
