New to the HUNT!

Ive been casually looking for coins since my mother is a bank manager-
I recently got into the purchasing of boxes of coins and struck out on my first 2 boxes of halves.

I am thinking of going through dimes as well! Do most of you just edge sort to find silver dimes? I have pretty good eyesight but I want to be efficient as well!

edge sort them all, get clear wrapped if u can then u dont even have to open them.

theres alot of information on here if u dig around a little bit, theres tons of new members and similiar posts to this one. or pay the $20 to get a charter membership to search keywords and you'll find more than you can read in a week.

Yer mom is a bank manager Lucky dog! That's pretty sweet. If u aren't having alot of luck w/ halves try some dimes. I average about 1 silver/box. After a box or two u will pick them out easily. Make sure u check the black edges... Some will be silver. Edge search only on dimes... Halves u might want to check more closely for errors/proofs/etc.

Stop by her bank and get friendly with the tellers. Ask them to set aside old and odd looking coins for you. If you are under 18, she if your Mom will ask the tellers at her branch.

Get bags from the coin counters - from her branch and from other branches as well. Those bags are how silver gets into boxes - so get it at its source.
