New to the site from PA

Hi everyone.

I got into metal detecting a few years ago with a Garret Sea Hunt 2 while scuba diving. I recently was in Colorado for work and went gold panning and got hooked. Picked up a Garret Deluxe Panning set. I also like to fossil hunt (not really treasure or related to this site I don't think?).

Was hoping to use this site as a resource for learning more about gold panning and locating sites.

My wife and I went out today panning a creek local to us with no real expectations, we think we saw some specks but nothing of interest other than she got real close to a whole Trilobite but it broke in two pieces.

Here's the "almost" find of today that my wife dug up. We found a ton of shells and a worm too, but those are pretty common for the pit we were in. This Trilobyte would have been the cleanest one we've found but not today

Yea, we are close. I'm familiar with Joliett, I go over to Rausch Creek Offroad Park every once in a while. I'm sort of near the reservoir near Outwood across from the swopes valley trail head. Yea, we were back in the fossil pit there!
