Welcome to the forum! I would start detecting local parks and school yards to gain the experience and confidence with your new machine. Try joining a local metal detecting club in your area for information and local hunts.

Well hello...and I've been lookin around hoping to find out about some groups here but...still no luck and how would I go about in the local parks..would I have to ask permission to the city or where??

You don't need to ask the city if you can play ball in the park, sit on the grass, toss Frisbee's so why do you think you need to ask permission to metal detect. Go have fun and leave the area like nobody was there.
