I am fairly new to metal detecting I have 2 ACE 250's (mine and my wifes) but I am looking for other people in the area to detect with also . I am also finding it difficult to find places to detect mainly because if someone remotely famous stood in one spot around here for more than 5 minutes they made it into a park which leaves me and my ACE on the outside looking in ( and usually drooling over a great looking spot ) . I have dicovered that if you just wanna find alotta coins sandy volleyball courts are great places but you won't be digging up the lost ark or anything to interesting in them thoughjust newer coins , although I did find (2) bicentennial quarters in the local one here that was cool. Planning a trip to Ocean City maryland ( hopefully soon ) to search the beach after the last storm hit . Well anyway I am glad I found this site seems to have alot of great stories and even better people here . John

Ditto on the welcome. Have patience & stick with it....it's a blast! I was fortunate to find someone local to hunt with, I hope you are able to do the same.

Welcome. You'll find that just in about any place, city or town, there are always places to possibly locate older coins.....a little research and creativity willl get you in them. Besides parks, there are always the woods, grass strips on the sidewalks, demolition areas, lakes, sides of old roads, etc.

ALRIGHT! Looks like your finding some stuff. I find a few match book cars as well.
Mostly its clas and an ocassional ring but nothing worth much.
