New to this

Read the owners manual...if you need to ground balance do it ,then go out in your yard and dig anything that beeps and learn the signals.
Find a place with no targets and put out some coins, pulltabs, ring, bullet, paperclip, hairpins, and put down a rusty nail and then disc.it out so it dose not make the detector beep....learn the owners manual.
What kind of metal detector is it ? and what state do you live in ?
Good Luck

Hello from White Plains, New York! Your machine operates at 6.7kHz, and looks like you have several adjustable controls. I suggest you learn to operate it in all four modes, starting with "ALL METAL." This will give you a solid understanding of working with a threshold, the differences in signal quality and tone on different types of targets, and your depth capabilities, which are always greatest in the All Metal mode.

As mentioned, read the owner’s manual over and over until you UNDERSTAND what the words are saying. Listen hard to EVERY target so you can start to remember the slight differences between a piece if deep iron, and a shallow gold ring. Expect to put 50-hours on the headphones before you begin to feel "comfortable." Big Gold to You!

JUST DIG IT !! :headbang: NEW DIGGERS SOMETIMES HAVE 'BEGINNERS LUCK' , SO DIG EVERYTHING

Thank you both, can't wait to get started
