I bought myself a Discovery 1100 over a year ago, and have just now found time to get out and use it. Bought a 2nd one 2 months ago so I can have my dad go hunt with me this year. I finally got out today, right after a thunderstorm and hunted my backyard. Found this 1955D Wheatie about 2 inches down. Dug a lot of aluminum as well, but got some good practice in at cutting plugs. This forum has been tremendous at providing me knowledge on use, techniques, and ways to research. I'm going out tomorrow with my dad to my great uncles place which was built in 1915. Hoping to find some interesting items

Welcome to TNet! You're on the way to a great adventure but best of all, you have a great hunting partner to share in the excitement!

Best wishes to you both,

Hi, Wheatie on your first time out is fantastic.. Always seems to take awhile for wheaties but you got that out of the way right away. Great Job Welcome to T-Net.. Midnightguy

Hey, you got one of the tougher ones out of the way quick...Great job and I hope you find silver tomorrow!!!

Congrats! I've only been MD'ing for about 2 weeks, and I look forward to the first time I pull out my first Wheatie, silver, or gold. Keep at it....and Happy Hunting!

Congrats & welcome!!

Be careful about MD'g, it is VERY addicting!

I usually MD every day, but since broke my big toe, it's been "only 1 week" of no md'g - really serious withdrawls!
