Newbie here…is this a hand axe of some sort? Or scraper?

I found this today have no idea what it is, but I think it’s definitely something? The edge is chipped btw. I’ve attached multiple photos taken at different angles. Expertise is greatly appreciated.

I'd say it's a partially flaked celt (likely more uncommon than a ground celt). The chip out of the bit is damage from usage--it was ground into shape producing that slick edge. All celts were hafted so not technically a hand axe.

I believe so. Somebody's tool at one time.
 

It took a lot of time to shape that bit by grinding. The finished piece was mounted into a prepared, socketed, wooden handle and used like a modern day axe.
